On Saturday, March 24 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Peddie School will host the Empty Bowls Event (in conjunction with RISE and the Hightstown Arts Council) in the dining hall. Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to raise both money and awareness in the fight to end hunger, personalized by artists and art organizations on a community level.
Guests choose a bowl handmade by a local artist, to fill with soup or hot dishes donated by area eateries, and keep the bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. In exchange for the meal, and the bowl, guests contribute a donation to the Hightstown Cultural Arts Commission and the local Rise Food Pantry.
We're counting on your help to make this event a success. You are welcome to gather with friends or dormmates and volunteer in groups, or to volunteer on your own.
