What is ESL?
English as a Second Language, or ESL, is a community service-based club. Participants go to St. Andrews, a nearby church, to teach local immigrants how to speak English. These English skills are crucial in helping the locals adjust well to a new country and in the workplace. It is also a good opportunity to give back to the community and meet the great locals.
Who can join?
ANYONE! It does not matter what language class you are taking (or if you are taking any at all). All grades are welcome. The only requirement is to have passion and affection!
We typically leave around 6:50 on Friday evenings and return by 8:30 – right before study hall. If this sounds interesting, be on the lookout for emails to sign up once ESL starts.
