Peddie Summer Academy
A RESIDENTIAL ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES 7 THROUGH 9
Coming Summer 2023
Experience a taste of on-campus life with a community of scholars.
Peddie Summer Academy is a program for rising 7th, 8th and 9th graders who are considering or preparing for boarding school.
Join peers on Peddie’s beautiful 280-acre campus for a two-week immersive residential experience that emphasizes self-discovery, intellectual exploration and the richness of community living. Your journey begins on a path of your choosing in STEM or the arts. You'll work in small classes and groups to collectively problem-solve, produce and perform, while also honing your writing skills through the study of contemporary literary texts. Outside of the classroom, you’ll learn what it feels like to live independently and in community with others developing friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime.
In addition to the subject-specific classwork, participants will also engage in conversations focusing on identity and community. Past and present Peddie students will help to facilitate these conversations and provide a window into the daily student experience. Students will utilize Peddie's campus for creative and athletic activities and engage in local cultural experiences.
Growth and independence
Through this transformational program, students will further develop their creative and academic interests and demonstrate their understanding through a culminating project. Projects in the arts will be installed in our gallery and or performed on our stage, while in STEM, students will present their work through research-styled displays. Beyond the classroom, this immersive opportunity will enable students to develop independence and provide guidance on being thoughtful and productive residential community members.
Organized, run and taught by Peddie faculty with assistance from Peddie students and young alumni, Peddie Summer Academy is founded on the mission and values of The Peddie School where community, discovery and growth go hand-in-hand.
