10 things every Falcon should do before graduating

Here’s what Owen O’Neill ’20 thinks should be on your list.

1. Play in a Peddie-Blair Day sports game

There’s no sporting event quite like Peddie-Blair Day. And thirds soccer counts as much as varsity football, so you don’t even have to be a star athlete to help Peddie win the Cup!

Peddie-Blair Week will likely be one of your best Peddie memories.

2. Tour guide

Give tours to future Peddie Falcons. Not only do you get to know your school better, but you get to meet amazing potential applicants and their families. Plus, the admissions office always has the best snacks.

3. Mannino’s

Try slices of pizza you can literally find nowhere else. BLT, penne vodka, onion rings … you have to taste them to believe them.

Mannino's Hightstown

Your Peddie experience is not complete without a trip to Mannino’s in downtown Hightstown.

4. Sophomore Bike trip

Only for sophomores. Camp, ride, make your own meals. Create lifetime bonds with people you had never talked to before the trip.

5. Go to the PSIT (Peddie School Invitational Tournament)

In dull of winter, Peddie students, faculty and alumni muster up absurd amounts of energy in the Erik B. Hansen Field House to rock the stands and cheer on our varsity boys’ basketball team. Trust me, you don’t even have to understand the sport to love the PSIT.

6. Attend (or be a part of) the Freshman Musical

The entire school comes to watch two dozen freshmen put on plays such as Legally Blonde or Aladdin.

The Freshman Musical is a popular Peddie tradition. The crowd for opening night is standing room only.

7. Get to know your dorm supervisors

Knowledgeable faculty and parental figures there for you whenever. You’ll be surprised how much you learn from the teachers you don’t have in class.

8. Try an SNA (Saturday Night Activities)

Every Saturday school-wide activities ranging from Broadway shows to on-campus Knocker-Ball to Princeton getaways to movie shuttles are offered. All you have to do is sign up and show up!

9. Chicken Nugget Day

On the days you are most bogged down by work, or it’s just too cold, or you are way too tired, chicken nuggets served by Peddie Food Service just seem to be there for you. School morale is increased tenfold just because of the nuggets.

10. Make the most of it

You only have four years here so give it all you got and leave with no regrets.
