Prerequisite: One year of Chemistry with an A- average (B for Chemistry Honors) and an A- average in Humanities.
Biology Honors is intended for students who possess a strong aptitude for science as well as higher level reading and writing abilities. Students enrolled in this challenging course will utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to design their own experiments, develop hypotheses, analyze data, and draw conclusions. Major themes in Biology will be investigated in detail and students will learn about a variety of topics including evolution, biochemistry, cell structure and function, cellular processes, genetics, biotechnology, physiology and ecology. Students who complete this course will be encouraged to take the Biology SAT II in June.
