Science
We'll explore ideas that cross disciplines. We'll challenge you to think critically and form opinions. And we'll help you see how science relates to your world.
Our curriculum is grounded in foundational work in the major disciplines (chemistry and biology), and then it takes off. There are offerings in robotics and engineering, astronomy and geology, and animal evolution; honors level chemistry, biology, physics and anatomy; and advanced placement courses in biology, chemistry, environmental science, physics and psychology. Our Signature Experience in Research Science (STEM-EXP) allows you dive deeply into a particular area of science and find out what it really means to become an expert in a field of study.
The laboratory experience is a vital and integrated part of our courses. You'll learn how to interpret data and construct hypotheses, use traditional and computer-based equipment and write clear and persuasive lab reports.
SCIENCE
Being fully involved in the scientific process not only promotes critical thinking skills, but it also encourages students to facilitate their own learning and apply what they have learned to the real world. Meredith Salmon, science teacher
