Modeling Retinal Neural Circuits Using the Neuron-C Programming Language
I created models of neurons of the retina, which is the back of the eye, where images are translated to neural signals and sent to our brains. I modeled these retinal neurons as electronic components in a circuit to measure how signals are transferred through a system of neurons, using a coding language, Neuron-C.
Due to COVID-19, I had a lot of improvising to do throughout the summer, and I learned that perseverance, a good sense of humor, and a willingness to learn and adapt can get you through anything. Neha Sathishkumar ’21
