Exploring the Influence of Sports Markets in China
Growing up in France, Hong Kong and Singapore, I began playing sports to overcome language barriers. Ever since, I’ve loved watching sports, but recently I loved to “think” about sports. Since last year, I started a monthly sports blog where I write articles about player trades, expansion franchises, and marketing strategies of sports products and organizations. I’ve written a variety of articles on Chinese sports: China’s “850 billion USD” domestic sports industry; the Beijing Olympics; Chinese players in foreign sports leagues bringing Chinese fans to the market. With this project, I’ve expanded my knowledge on this frontier across more leagues and players, as well as understanding the trends in China’s sports culture.
My Signature Experience taught me that different areas of interest can intertwine with one another and result in a meaningful and personal learning opportunity. Harry Ahn '21
