Comparing the Damages of the 2019 Australian Bush Fires Using Remote Sensing

The severity of the 2019-2020 Australian bushfires was assessed and surveyed using Google Earth Engine. Coding was utilized to produce qualitative and quantitative analyses of bushfire density, vegetation, and air pollution. I was mainly interested in studying bushfires, as it is relevant to the current discussion about environmental policy and climate change. My study concluded that the bushfires in Western Australia peaked at a different time than New South Wales and persisted for longer periods of time.
