Support is Everywhere

Finding time to meet with teachers for academic help throughout middle school was such a struggle for me. During the school day, I was always incredibly busy and there wasn’t always time set aside to meet and connect with my teachers.

When I started at Peddie as a freshman, I was relieved to learn that most Peddie faculty members actually live right on campus and are available and more than willing to help students outside of school hours, not just during DMX (a short period during the day where you can meet with teachers). Meeting with teachers has become the “norm” for so many of us during the day and even after sports practices or dinner.

Not only are Peddie’s teachers super accessible during the evenings, but so many other teachers who are familiar with the same subject might also be around to help with any form of homework. For me, evening hours are so much more real, fun and accessible.

The bonds I have been able to create with so many Peddie faculty members are so important to me, especially when conversation topics might shift from academics to friendly chitchat. Peddie teachers are more than happy to help you academically and even more importantly, will be around to talk and create genuine relationships. The connections I have made with so many Peddie faculty members who have been there to talk and help me out when I needed it the most are what makes me feel so connected to the community.
