Luke Treese '23 throws no-hitter in win over Blair

Luke Treese '23 tossed a no-hitter, striking out five and walking three to lead the Falcons to a 4-0 win over Blair in MAPL action on William F. Thompson Field. After walking the first batter, Treese retired 16 Bucs in a row before issuing his second free pass with one out in the sixth.

Treese allowed a leadoff walk in the seventh and buckled down from there, getting a strikeout, a force out at second and a game-ending ground out to shortstop Matt Schwartz '22.

After stranding four runners on base in the first three frames, the Falcons broke through with three runs in the fourth. Alex Stillwell '22 started things off with a line-drive double down the left-field line. Schwartz singled to left advancing Stillwell to third and then stole second. With one out, Andrew Stizza '22 smacked a two-run single over the third base bag to make it 2-0. Stizza stole second and with two outs Jack Hughes '22 delivered a clutch single to center to plate the third run.

The Falcons tacked on an insurance marker in the fifth thanks to a two-out RBI single to left by Schwartz that plated Ryan Ulisse '22 to extend the lead to 4-0.

Stizza led the attack with three singles, two RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases.

The defense backed up the junior on the mound, posting seven outfield putouts and nine more from the infield.

The Falcons (1-1) return to its home diamond on April 5 to take on MAPL foe The Hun School.
