Peddie Food Service Cook Position

Peddie Food Service seeks a cook for its full-service dining hall. Reporting to the chef, the cook is responsible for preparing menu items according to the daily menu. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and cooking foods according to production levels and pre-approved recipes
  • Placing food and supply orders as directed  
  • Keeping kitchen, dish and storage areas clean and sanitized 
  • Must maintain and execute production performance in the absence of management
  • Must be able to cover any kitchen position and fill in as needed
  • Food production control must be within budgetary restrictions
  • Receiving product; verifying invoice and freshness of merchandise
  • Exemplifying professional customer service and workplace practices


candidates possess college or culinary training and/or extensive cooking and production experience along with a minimum of two years working in a food preparation position. 

Additional qualifications include:

  • Food and beverage knowledge
  • Commitment to Quality service
  • Knowledge of basic training techniques
  • Familiarity with local state and federal health and sanitation laws
  • Understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment including stoves, refrigeration, slicers, knives and dish machine
