After teaching for eight years in Spain, José Ruiz joined Peddie in 2003, and is currently chair of the Language Department. He lives on campus with his wife, Rocio, who serves as residential faculty in Masters dormitory, and their two daughters.
Ruiz coaches cross country and indoor track and serves as a student advisor. He has spent several summers as a Program Director with the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy summer program, where he helps high school students fully immerse themselves in a foreign culture.
