Parents Association

The purpose of the Peddie Parents Association is to support harmonious relationships between parents or guardians and the faculty, students and administration of the Peddie School, thereby contributing to the general welfare of the school.

  • Get Involved!

    There are many ways to become involved in Peddie Parent Association activities, whether your student is a boarding or a day student. We welcome ALL parents, guardians, and host families!  Some of the committees run events that directly involve the students (a great way to stay connected), while a few others support the faculty and parents. Boarding parents can participate in many ways from home or at times when you are visiting your student on campus.
     
     If you would like to be involved in any of the PPA activities, please contact the appropriate committee chair with your preferred email and phone number.  
  • Blair Day

    This committee plans activities for Blair Day, which will be held at Blair this year on November 5, 2016. These activities include organizing a Tailgate Party, catering for Peddie parents and students, etc. Time Commitment: short term (October-November 2016)

  • Golf Outing

    This committee plans the always popular Parent Golf Outing Social at Peddie’s beautiful course, held on the Friday of Parents’ Weekend. This year the golf outing social will be held on September 30, 2016. The committee plans tee times, prizes and food for the event. Time Commitment: September

  • Parent Connection

    This is a job that can be done from home around your schedule (great for parents of boarding students).  This committee works throughout the school year to make phone calls to all new Peddie families. The calls start in August with a welcome to new families, answering any initial questions. During the year, additional calls are made to explain and answer questions about Peddie traditions and events. Parent volunteers should be comfortable talking about the Peddie campus, student life and traditions. (Returning parents only, please.) Time Commitment: a few hours, three to four times a year.
  • Peddie Fund

    This committee works closely with Alex McDowell, Director of the Peddie Fund in the office of Alumni and Development to provide outreach and education to parents about how the Peddie Fund supports the school. Volunteers should be comfortable speaking with other parents about their giving, and with soliciting gifts. Training and support will be provided. Time commitment: periodically throughout the school year, can be done on your own schedule (Great for parents of boarding students!)   • Performing and Fine Arts

    This committee provides refreshments in the theater lobby for guests attending student performances and also provides receptions for performers and artists after recitals, concerts and art showings. Time Commitment: You can volunteer for as few or as many events as you wish throughout the year. 
  • Pre-prom Event

    This is a great committee for freshman and sophomore parents!
    This committee organizes refreshments for the students and parents, and sets up photo opportunities on the Peddie campus, before the Junior/Senior Class Prom. Time Commitment: April-May 2017.
  • Spring Social

    This committee plans and volunteers during the spring social, held during the spring Parents Weekend (Saturday, May 6, 2017). Volunteers are needed both ahead of time as well as the night of the social.
