How to Apply

To begin the application process, international applicants should submit Part 1 (Student Biographic) of the Standard Application Online (SAO). Once you've submitted Part 1 of the SAO, you should:
  • Schedule a campus visit and interview.  Interviews can be scheduled by calling our International Coordinator, Vera Wojtowicz at (609) 944-7540.
    • If you are a student from China who is interested in applying to Peddie School for the 2016-2017 academic year, you will need to complete a preliminary interview with Vericant, who will conduct an interview, proctor a short writing sample and submit these materials on behalf of the applicant to the Peddie School Admission Office for review.   • Register to take the required standardized admission test.
    • SSAT (For students applying for grades 9 through 11)
    • ACT/PSAT/SAT (For students applying for grades 10 through Post Graduate) 
    • TOEFL (Required for students who are not native English speakers)

  • Complete your SAO Application.  Submit the rest of your application materials via SAO:
    • Student Essays
    • Parent Statement

  • Will I be considered an international student?

    Peddie defines a student to be an international student if they meet either of the following criteria:
    • the student will require an I-20 to study at Peddie.
    • the family's primary residence is outside of the United States — regardless of citizenship.
  • What should I do to start the application process?

    To begin the application process, you should create your online account by submitting Part 1 (Student Biographic) of the Standard Application Online (SAO) as this is required to schedule an interview.  Our school code is 5716.  Once you've submitted Part 1, you should schedule your tour of campus and interview.  
  • How do I schedule an interview?

    You can make your interview request by contacting our International Coordinator, Vera Wojtowicz at (609) 944-7540.  Campus tours and interviews for the 2016-17 school year begin on Monday, September 28th.

    While we strongly encourage a campus visit as the best way to learn about Peddie, a phone or Skype interview may be arranged if distance makes travel prohibitive.  To conduct a Skype interview, you will need to provide your Skype ID when scheduling your interview.

  • Is the iTOEFL required and what is the minimum score?

    Yes, the iTOEFL is required.  The minimum score for 9th grade applicants on the iTOEFL is 90.  The minimum score for 10th and 11th grade applicants is 100.  International students must be proficient enough in the English language to meet the Peddie curruciulum with success.  Peddie does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.  We do not accept the SLEP test scores.  If TOEFL is unavailable, IELTS scores will be accepted.

  • What is the minimum score for SSAT?

    We do not have a minimum score for the SSAT.  Our average score is in the 70th percentile.  The SSATis only one part of the process and we do a holistic review of each candidate's application.  Your SSATscore will be looked at in conjunction with your teacher recommendations as well as your previous coursework/transcripts to come up with an academic assessment.  Additionally, we take into consideration your personal qualities, extracurricular interests, co-curricular activities, and leadership positions.
