The 2016-17 academic year—the 153rd year in Peddie history—officially began on Sunday, September 4, with the school’s Convocation (see photos) in the Ayer Memorial Chapel. Skies remained sunny as Hurricane Hermine shifted East of its predicted path.
Matt Mena ’17 has a passion for music and cooking. He’s been playing the trumpet since second grade (he’s a “first-rate trumpeter” according to faculty member Pat Clements), and discovered a love for cooking in middle school, when he would recreate meals for his family from the Food Network.
It’s an eclectic group: a few Peddie seniors and a newly enrolled freshman; local triathletes in training; faculty members and their kids; moms looking to get in a workout. Gathered on the Peddie track Monday evening, they shared the simple joy of running.
Twenty-seven rising seniors are currently participating in Peddie's Research Science Signature Experience, a program that helps upper-level students pursue their scientific interests and encourages them to consider careers in science-related fields.
