Albert Bowers '96, Ph.D., is the recipient of a 2014 Beckman Young Investigator Award, a four-year, $750,000 award that recognizes the nation’s most innovative young scientists. Bowers is an assistant professor in the Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry at UNC's Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
Peddie’s Project UNIFY partnered with Peddie tennis coaches and players to host a play day for 15 Special Olympics of NJ athletes and their siblings, joining athletes with and without intellectual disabilities for an afternoon of teamwork, skill-building, and fun.
The Peddie girls' varsity four finished 23rd of 84 entries in the Youth Division, while the boys' boat produced similar results placing 27th out of 85 teams at the 50th Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Sunday.
Hill Day brought wins for Peddie boys' and girls' cross country, varsity girls' soccer, varsity girls' tennis, field hockey and football. Both the field hockey and football games were live-streamed, and the recordings of those matchups are now available on YouTube. Football | Field Hockey
