Intense competition. Nail-biting finishes. Hundreds of cheering students.

This is Peddie-Blair Day. For everyone who has worn the blue and gold, whether an athlete or not, Peddie-Blair Day is a beloved tradition. And Peddie-Blair Week is likely to be one of the most memorable weeks of any Falcon's life.

Built upon the oldest prep school football rivalry in the state, Peddie-Blair Day is the culmination of our fall sports season. A full day of athletic competition against friendly rival Blair Academy, every game counts equally, and the Kelley-Potter Cup is awarded to the school with the greatest number of wins. Often, the awarding of the cup comes down to the final results of the football pairing, but it can (and has) come down to the wire as hundreds of fans crowd in to watch the back-and-forth action of a junior varsity girls tennis doubles match.

Peddie-Blair Day leaves Peddie students with lifelong memories hard-fought wins and losses, but also sportsmanship, school spirit and friendship. As our students become part of the tradition, the tradition becomes a part of them.

Kelley-Potter Cup

History

Established in 1988, the Kelley-Potter Cup is awarded to the school that wins the most athletic events during the annual fall face-off between Peddie and Blair, with each match by boys and girls at all levels counting equally.

Representing sportsmanship and competition, the cup is named for James R. Kelley, former headmaster of Blair Academy and F. Edward Potter, Jr., a much-beloved former headmaster of Peddie.
