Akshay Mody '18 Breaks Records

Cross country co-captain Akshay Mody ’18 won the New Jersey Prep A State title and the individual MAPL Championship for the second year in a row, distinguishing himself as the first Peddie runner in history to have won more than one title.

The senior is also a four-year varsity letter winner owns the school record – a stellar 15 minutes and 57 seconds – for the current 5k layout on Peddie’s Golf Course, which has been used since 1998.

“When Akshay showed up at Peddie four years ago, we knew we had a good one,” said Coach Christopher Bright. “His prowess on the track and the cross country course will be remembered in our record books, and more importantly in the hearts and minds of his team mates.  We are thankful for the time and energy he has given to Peddie and the way in which he has inspired us.  He is a true student athlete.”
