For visual arts teacher Andrew Harrison, creating art is an important part of being an educator.
“I actually think it’s critical,” said Harrison, who also serves as director of Peddie’s Mariboe Gallery. “There is not a big separation between what I do in the studio and what I am teaching. Keeping active creatively makes me more genuine when talking to my students, and they sense that.”
The 2016-17 academic year—the 153rd year in Peddie history—officially began on Sunday, September 4, with the school’s Convocation (see photos) in the Ayer Memorial Chapel. Skies remained sunny as Hurricane Hermine shifted East of its predicted path.
