Theater Camp

A professional training program in musical theater for students ages 11-15
For our landmark 25th year, the Peddie School is bringing exciting changes to the Theater Camp. Masters Classes with visiting Broadway professionals, and the opportunity to hone your acting talents with members of the Peddie School theater department have been added.  Each session culminates in a Friday afternoon showcase performance. The program includes a full lunch program in the Peddie School dining hall. Enrollment is limited at 40. Campers will participate in each of the following:

Acting
An exciting course designed to develop the imagination, release creativity, and encourage more effective communication both on and off the stage.
Musical Theater
A unique class that combines vocal training, reading music, sight singing, projection, stage movement, and the techniques of both solo and group performance.
Dance
Instruction includes jazz dance, musical comedy, and basic movement. All students will participate in the staging of at least one musical number.

2016 Camp dates:
Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Session 1: July 11 - July 22
Session 2: July 25 - August 5

* Showcase will be on the final Friday afternoon of each session at 4PM (July 22 & August 5)

Green Apple Theater Camp

A drama and music program for students ages 8–11.
Celebrating its 21st year, the Green Apple Theater program, under the direction of Paul Sulyok, is a full-day one-week drama and music program tailored especially for students ages 8 through 11. The fee includes a full lunch program in the Peddie School cafeteria. Each session's enrollment is limited to 20 students. The principal focus of this program is to motivate, strengthen and further the development of learning and creative thinking through acting, dance and music...all while having lots of fun! Students are encouraged to examine and use their creative qualities to build self-esteem and confidence through theater games, pantomime and improvisation exercises specifically designed for this program.


2016 Camp dates:
Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Session 1: July 11-15
Session 2: July 18-22
Session 3: July 25-29
Session 4: August 1-5

2016 Cost: $375

Limit two sessions of Green Apple per student. An aftercare program is available from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for an additional cost.

Summer Internships

Intern positions are available each session in Acting, Dance, Musical Theater and Technical Production. Interns act as personal assistants to the professional instructions and must be at least 16 years old by June 25, 2016. Selection is based on citizenship, character, experience, talent, recommendations and interview. Early application is recommended. Contact Marilyn Anker 609-944-7550 to apply.
