Summer 2016 Registration opened on January 1.

You may still add a course or regoster for courses that have space, but you must now come to the Summer School Office to register

IMPORTANT - In ALL cases, the textbook listed in the Online Bookstore is the correct textbook to purchase. 
Where the syllabus may list a book that was used in a previous year, the Online Bookstore lists the books being used this year that are available.

Peddie Summer Day School is a six week academic program for rising sixth through twelfth grades.

Course offerings

  • Courses in mathematics, language arts (English and essay writing), high school sciences and SAT prep. 
  • The majority of courses are for enrichment, serving to prepare students for the coming school year.
  • Credit and honors credit courses offered in most mathematics courses.
  • Classes are capped at 16 students and taught by some of the finest teachers in the area, many of whom are long-term faculty of Peddie Summer Day School.


  • All classes are held daily, Monday-Friday (there will be no classes on Monday, July 4). Courses are six weeks long, with the exception of SAT prep, which is 4 weeks long.
  • All classes are held on Peddie School campus, in Annenberg Hall, Caspersen History House and the Walter and Leionore Annenberg Science Center.
  • Students must be dropped off in Peddie Athletic Center Parking lot (155 Etra Rd.)
  • Summer Day School runs from 7:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. There are 4 periods every morning and one period in the afternoon
    • 8:00-9:00 a.m. - First period
    • 9:10-10:10 a.m. - Second period
    • 10:20-11:20 a.m.  - Third period
    • 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Fourth period
    • 12:30-1:10 p.m. - Lunch (honors math courses include lunch in the dining hall)
    • 1:00-3:00 p.m. - Fifth period*
    • *Honors math fifth period runs from 1:15-2:15 p.m.
  • Morning Enrichment Courses: $1,295 per course ($75 discount for second course) These courses meet either periods 1 and 3 or periods 2 and 4. Students may choose up to two enrichment courses. Students will be scheduled by the SDS office; schedules will be mailed after June 15. Students who take only one morning course will be scheduled into a monitored study hall during the other two morning periods. The class day for morning enrichment courses ends at 12:30 p.m. Students must be picked up no later than 1:00 p.m.
  • Afternoon Enrichment Courses: $1,295 per course ($75 discount for second course) Afternoon enrichment courses meet from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Afternoon study hall is an option.


  • Registration opens January 1; all registrations must be completed online.
  • No application is required; while there is no registration deadline, courses  will be closed for registration as soon as they fill to capacity
  • Read all course descriptions thoroughly.
    • Check with current teachers and school district to ensure best course selection;
    • For credit math courses, obtain written permission from school district in order to receive credit.
  • Deposit ($250 per course) is required to ensure space is secured. Deposite counts toward course tuition; $100 of each deposit is non-refundable. Full payment is due June 1, 2016.
The Peddie Summer class experience has been an invaluable experience for my son, and has contributed to a marked boost in his overall confidence in academics as well as furthering his knowledge in math and language arts. He is delighted to have the opportunity to return to Peddie this summer.
