About Peddie Field Hockey Camp
PFHC is for girls entering grades 3–9. During the week players will gain a basic understanding of the game while focusing on the fundamental skills in field hockey. Players will become proficient in the push, sweep and hit, and will work on stopping the ball as well as on basic ball control and shooting. After lunch, teaching and discussion will focus on individual and team strategies needed to play the game correctly (often utilizing game film to see the strategy in action). Each afternoon campers will play small-sided games to work on the skills that have been honed and perfected in the morning session. These games will be skill– and age– appropriate so that each player can get the most out of her week at camp.
There is a half-day program (9:00-11:30 a.m.) available for younger players (entering Kindergarten through grade 2) who are interested in learning the game. Please email Coach Treese directly at firstname.lastname@example.org for information about this session.
